I believe that the JACI concert could have been better. Our dynamics could have been more dramatic. But other than that, I think that we did well. It would have been better if we have more of a warm up but oh well. I think we could have been more blended also.
I wish we would have had more of a warm up. I believe that we could have had more dinamics and better pitch. Plus I feel like in the high part of durme we could have been more confident. But other than that I thought we did great!
I feel that we did a great job at JACI. We probably could work on harmonizing and some pitch but over all I think we did very well. We could also work on posture as well.
I think it was fun. It was nice to here all the other choirs sing. Some were REALLY good, others not so much. As far as our performance goes we did good. But the sopranos were a little pitchy at some points. And sometimes we were to loud. We need to work on out posture. All in all it was a great concert and I look forward to it next year.
I think that our choir performed very well. It was a fun day getting to listen to other choirs and get critique. Our choir needs to be more confident and push our voices. We could be a lot louder and annunciate a little better and also get into the songs a little more. But altogether we sounded really good and other choirs complimented us. We all knew most of the words and notes. We gave Springport a good name.
I believe we were great. I really enjoyed being there and listening to the other choirs. We probably should work on harmonizing more cause there was parts of the song that were a little shaky. I liked grass lake choir and i believe that they were as good as us.
I think the concert was okay. We could work on harmonizing a little. I liked the song choice of grass lakes 2nd choir, they sounded really good and had nice pitch. We sounded great too but we could work on harmonizing some more but I had some fun and I enjoyed watching other choirs!
I thought that we preformed very well at JACI. Our tone was very good and we were intense. The sopranos could have done a better job with our high notes in the first song. The critique that we received was very helpful and in my opinion, we represented Springport very well and are getting better as individuals and as a program. If I were to rank our Choir it would be either 1st or 2nd. Having more people helped us be louder but may have caused some issues with sounding unified. The Grasslake select choir was good, but I didn't like their song selection. We also had better body movement than other choirs. Overall a good preformance
Overall at JACI, all of the groups performed pretty well, while we all had our few errors, majority of it was portrayed beautifully, the tenors could have been louder and project their voices more, but in the end, the performance was great!
I think we did good, but we could have been better. The grass like was really good! And I think we were right behind them. I think we could have been a little bit louder which is something we can work on. And I think we should have had a few more activitys in the middle of singing because it got really boring just sitting their.
We did good, but I think we should of gotten the chance to have another warm up. Because some of our notes were sketchy in Durme Durme. Both songs were great, other than not warming up. Sometimes the accompaniment player was off time. It was hard to stay together sometimes. River in Judea was great, I loved the strong ending.
I feel like our choir was good but we can be better we have the numbers to be louder and bring the house down! But we were better than the other choirs especially Homer. Good Job everyone!
Overall we did very well. We need to be more confident with our higher notes so we can nail them. I did enjoy Grasslakes songs and I think we should do more acapella songs. I think we did a better job on river also.
I do believe that our choir was the best and the reason for that is because I could pick out at least two points of error in every song other than ours. It would be nice if we could have a solo for guys and girls each concert.I would also like a song where the basses can go as deep as they can.
I believe that our choir did very well at the choir invitational. Our pieces sounded great and we mixed well together. River sounded the best. Grass Lake also did very well. They were in tune and the music they sang was entertaining. They also had good mouth shapes while singing their pieces.
At JACI, everything was pretty solid for Springport. We did a pretty good run through on Durme and on River. There were other schools that were good but over all we were good. Sometimes dynamics were a bit meh but everyone for the most part killed it.
We really enjoyed JACI, and the day was planed really well. We think that our choir was one of the best! Both Grass Lake and us have good qualities. On Durme we had really good timing, but altos could have done a little better( had a stronger sound). In the River in Judea we look really well an had really good mouth shapes. In this song the guys were a little over powering at first, but closer to the end they began to blend in. The girls were very good. We think that our over all performance went really well!! Great job everyone!!!
JACI went really well! The best performance was definitely River. The mood we set for the audience was great right off the bat when the girls started the verse. The movement we presented was captivating. The other choirs did not move as much and it made me uncomfortable in my seat making me move. Moving in my seat is not a good thing. Don't be a seat mover. Stick with cable. We were pitchy at times, though. Other choir did not seem to have as much of a problem with that. Overall, a good day.
we think that we sounded decent, we could have had a better tone and also could have known our parts a little better. overall we feel like we did great and were easily one of the best choirs there. we only wish that we had more time to warmup and had better warmups then what we had! but overall i agree that we were the best choir there.
i feel like the other chiors tryed over powering us. but all the other chiors sounded good but i feel like when grass lake sang after us it seemed they were trying to overpower our sopranos because they were afraid of use being better then them.
I was absent for the the concert but from the videos. Durme was alright there were some parts were off. Judea had some noticeable wrong notes but has good dynamics for the most part.
I agree with the rating of an 8, and I'd say most choirs were within the 6-8 range. It was good but... not amazing I guess? While the overall performances were pretty solid, there weren't any that left me feeling "Wow, that was amazing, I'd love to have our choir perform that!" The only one that stood out was Sing Sing, and I think that was mostly due to it being the only jazz number in the concert.
The thing that stood out to me the most about our performance was it felt like our dynamic contrast was weaker than usual, the end of River in Judea especially. We really could have thrown it out there more, so to speak. The quieter parts might just be from having more people than I'm used to at least. Other than that we did well at least.
I think we sounded good but it would have been better if we warmed up more. We messed up on some notes but came right back. I liked grass lake and the way they got into their songs. We need to work on not look scared while we are on the stage
I think that JACI went fairly well. I think that Duerme went pretty well. I definitely think that we could have done better with dynamics. River in Judea was good, but I think we could have had better mouth shapes. We also look really bored throughout the whole concert. I think we should try to put more emotion into it.
I think that all in all we did very good at JACI but we could have been more unified. We worked well most of the time but at some times we lost it. Another issue was the guy section and our confidence at some points. I personally forgot a note or two and panicked and if we all did that it would sound bad.
I think JACI overall went well, we could have been better. Sopranos were a little pitchy in some spots during our performance, that is definitely something we need to work on in the future. As a whole choir I think we were better than some choirs but not all of them. We had a larger guy section than all of the other choirs there so it added another layer that was not as present in others.
We were pretty good at JACI. I wish the altos had known their notes... we were a bit lost in River in Judea, but Durme was ok. Other than that i thought we were great. The grass lake choir was also really good. The song that started with acapella was a really good fit for them and they performed that well.
I wish we would have had more of a warm up, but I thought that springport was one of the best choirs. In Durme we had amazing timing, but altos needed to be a little louder. In the River in Judea the guys were overpowering, but the girl sounded really good!! We had really good mouth shapes too!! Good job everybody!!
I was extremely worried about this upcoming concert, but was pleasantly surprised. We held our own against the choirs and some of you even think we did better than all of them (I don't, but then again I am a huge critic of anything I'm involved in.) The tenor section collapsed at the end of Judea, so endurance is an issue.
I feel that all of the choirs did very well. All of them sounded very good. I think that we did well in the fact that everybody had good posture and nobody had their hands in front of them, unlike some of the other choirs did.
I liked the concert. I think that we all had great posture and actually gave an effort Into singing our songs. We definitely needed more time to warm up and have a better quality warm up. The second Grasslake when they sung acapella it sounded great other than a couple sopranos going really high and a few singers going flat. Other than that, I enjoyed talking to kids from other schools and learning what they like to do and why they like to sing. I had a really nice time at JACI.
JACI turned out to be great time this year. Springport Middle School did great on their songs, I could hear each part clearly from where I was sitting. Homer High did not seem like they practiced as much as they could have. Both of the Grass Lake High School choirs sounded amazing. We were able to remember our words in difficult sections, and the tenors sounded great. They pushed out the sound and I think the kids sitting int the back of the auditorium were able to here them.
Our performance was very well done. Compared to other choirs we were very professional and were one of the better choirs. One choir that was "better" than us was Homer. Our best song was definitely Durme.
The guys section needed more support on River and a little more on durme.
Our choir walked into the auditorium and we knew we had to sing at our best. With the pressure on us. I think we did very well. We had the biggest guys section and it showed. 10/10 would sing again. The other director that helped us didn't say anything to the guys. Compared to the other choirs I thought we were the superior.
I think that if we had more time to warm up it would have sounded much better. I thought the Grass Lake choirs were killing it
